At Tydstroom, we regard the Pioneer Foods Values and Wellness Programs as an important aspect of our Employee Assistance. As a team, we do intensive training on various Wellness topics every year and in 2011 our topics are Personal Wellness and Dealing with Abuse.
The Values are very important and it was thought that it would be more effective if we could combine the two programmes as far as possible, to strengthen the impact on all employees. By combining three of the six Pioneer Foods Values with the Physical Wellness components, Developing Self-worth and Intellectual Growth, we have arrived at an exercise to promote an interest and excitement regarding the practical application of these important life strategies.
During 2011, we will be addressing other aspects of physical wellness, such as lifestyle diseases, as well as other chronic diseases. All employees will be involved in determining their own health status, and encouraged to make positive changes. Dealing with abuse will be dealt with in the wellness training, as well as being highlighted during the National 16 Days of Activism against Violence against Women and Children and National HIV/AIDS day.
