The Tydstroom processing plants are situated in the Western Cape at our Head Office in Durbanville and also close to Atlantis next to the N7. In Gauteng, our abattoir is situated in Hartbeespoort, and the processing facility in Edenvale. Our distribution depot, servicing the Eastern Cape, is situated in Hankey, a short drive from Port Elizabeth.
Tydstroom produces and supplies a wide range of fresh and frozen chicken products. It is of utmost importance to us to maintain the highest standards in quality and food safety at all times.The staff complement consists of approximately 1,300 employees throughout the five facilities. All staff members are trained in food safety to ensure that quality products are
produced for the market place.
Durbanville:
The Durbanville abattoir is situated at our Head Office, outside Durbanville. The abattoir operates on a day and afternoon shift, Sunday afternoon to Friday. Products mostly produced, are Tydstroom Fresh and Frozen products, and dealer-own-brands for customers in the Western and Eastern Cape markets. Tydstroom Durbanville provides employment for approximately 710 people.
N7:
The N7 abattoir is situated close to Atlantis and operates on a day shift only, Monday to Friday. N7 processing is mostly focused on value-added Tydstroom products and dealer-own-brands customers in the Western and Eastern Cape markets.
N7 provides employment for approximately 350 people.
Hartebeespoort:
The Hartbeespoort abattoir is situated outside Hartebeespoort in Gauteng. This abattoir produces mainly fresh products for the local market and supplies the processing facility at Edenvale daily with product.
Hartbeespoort provides employment for approximately 130 people.
Edenvale:
The Edenvale facility produces mainly frozen products for the Gauteng market as well as some dealer-own-brands for a number of customers. Edenvale provides employment for approximately 110 people.
